Key Expert Business Analyst (COGS)

Location: Duchnice (Warsaw) or Gdańsk – we are open to both locations!

We are seeking a Business Analyst Key Expert to lead financial analyses in the areas of biotechnological manufacturing and inventory management. This pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping the future of biotechnological manufacturing within our company by overseeing and driving the optimization of costs of goods. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to enhance efficiency and contribute significantly to our strategic goals.

This role is distinguished from the controlling team and will report directly to the Finance Director.

Your role:

• Financial lead in analysis and reporting of costs of goods.
• Ownership of the costing model.
• Financial lead in analysis and reporting of inventory movements.
• Monthly reconciliation of production costs and inventory movements.
• Regular analysis of production orders and reporting on production variances.
• Deep dive analysis and evaluation of root causes of production variances.
• Active engagement with production managers and collaboration with diverse operational teams across multisite settings, including teams such as Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Procurement.
• Proactively preparing, proposing, and implementing cost optimization initiatives.
• Proposing solutions to streamline processes for month-end closures.
• Managing various ad-hoc financial analyses.
• Optimizing and developing controlling tools, supporting the implementation of advanced solutions in ERP and reporting systems.
• Participating in the preparation of responses and analyses for financial auditors.
• Coaching business partners on financial planning, control, and economics.

If you have:

• At least 8 years of experience as a business analyst, plant controller, or financial controller in a manufacturing company.
• Excellent understanding of production controlling, COGS components, production variance analyses, and production cost settlement.
• At least 3 years of experience with SAP in the areas of FTM or/and DTS (SAP 4HANA experience is preferred).
• Experience in the biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical sectors (or similar) is a great advantage.
• Very good English and Polish language skills for effective communication in an international environment.
• An advanced degree in Economics, Finance, or Accounting, with a preference for specialization in controlling/financial analysis.
• Expertise in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical skills, organizational abilities, and resilience under pressure.
